Hi everyone.
We were very excited by the news that we heard this Friday. God worked in the hearts of a mother and father at the abortion mill and God saved the life of yet another one of His precious little image bearers! We are so thankful for this new little life and I hope that we will be able to minister to this family as they raise this little baby. Please pray that God would grant them repentance and faith in Jesus Christ and that they would raise their baby in the fear and admonition of the Lord. We thank God that He saved this baby's life! Join us in praising Him for His awesome and glorious works! This makes 3 babies saved from abortion since the start of this year in Portland alone! God is at work at these abortion mills, babies are being saved!
This week we were not at the abortion mill as it is our week off, but God gave us other venues where we could proclaim His glorious Gospel. Our big outreach for this week was big for our small town yet tiny compared to others. We find a group bigger than 80 a crowd here in our small part of Maine. A local theater was showing live streaming of the Super Bowl so we went to pass out tracts outside. We had a sign that had a quote from Matthew Slater. Matthew is a wide receiver for the New England Patriots and he is also a professing christian. We found a quote from him that seemed quite fitting for the occasion as people were wondering who would win the "big game". The quote said this,"Victory has already been won on Calvary and that's all that Really Matters." How true that is! It does not matter who wins the game, what matters is the souls of men. We must urge everyone to repent and trust in Christ alone for Salvation He is the only one able to save! I do find it funny when people come up and ask us what we are protesting. I should have told them that we are protesting sin. We were not protesting football, our family just does not care much about football. If you do, great, I just do not find watching a whole bunch of men run around tackling each other to be as fun as some other things I could be doing. But people find different things fun I guess. We were just content with passing out tracts and then leaving after people went inside for the game.
We only had a few people get angry at us, which can be expected when you confront sinners with the truth. Not that it is a good thing that they get mad and should be counted as something to rejoice in but we know that people reject the truth of God's Word and they are not happy when we tell them that they are sinners in need of a Savior, that Savior being Christ Jesus. We must remember to pray for those who persecute us and pray that God would open their eyes to the truth as He has done for us. Not because of anything that we did, but out of His amazing grace and mercy! He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son. In whom we have redemption the forgiveness of sins! People are still in slavery to sin and we must proclaim the Gospel to them in the hopes that God would save them from their lives of sin and that He would make them new creatures set apart for the work of our Savior Jesus Christ! The only one worthy of our praise!
We did see one lady last night who said that she would be probably be saying the name of Jesus Christ (in vain) a lot. How wicked is this world that people will openly admit to taking God's name in vain! God their creator who by His grace gives them the very breath that they breathe. Yet they turn around and blaspheme His holy name! This is what happens when people suppress the truth about God and embrace evil and give approval to others who do the same things as well.I thought a proper response would be to just tell her what the Bible says on the issue. "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain. For the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain."
I just recently watched the movie October Baby and it is great. It is loosely based on a true story of a girl who was a survivor of a saline abortion. After 18 hours she was born alive and her life was saved because the abortionist had not arrived at work yet that day. If the abortionist had been there the girl probably would have been murdered or left to die. Thank you God that this girl was saved! She now is able to share her story with many people and she is able to proclaim Christ's name to others as well! If God had not saved her life she would have been killed by her own mother. Yet God saved her life and she now serves Him and she has a testimony that many of us do not have and I pray that God would use her to proclaim His gospel to many people!
Prayer
Please be praying for our family as just yesterday some of our family came down with a stomach bug. Please pray that we will still be able to make it down to the abortion mill on Friday and that we would still be able to do any other ministry that God would have us to do.
Please be praying as there is man who is in the government in Texas who is in support of the bill that would ban abortion in Texas. He is now getting death threats. Pray for his safety and pray that this bill would go through so that abortion will be abolished in Texas. And not only in Texas but pray that abortion will be abolished everywhere! That people would stop slaughtering God's creation who is created in His image!
Pray for Mike Stockwell, Robert Gray, Sye Ten Bruggencate and all the other street preachers who faithfully proclaim Christ on the streets. Pray that they would be safe and pray that they will not be hindered from their preaching by the law enforcement and others who not always, but sometimes try to stop the preaching of the Gospel. Pray that peoples hearts would be changed by the power of the Gospel as it is faithfully proclaimed in the open air by faithful men of God such as these.
With love in the Lord,
Virginia.
