Introducing Precious Jewels, True love ... no strings attached

Here is a roundup of our week, a busy enough week that I broke into categories!

Ministry

Some of you who have read Daddy's blog may have heard about Precious Jewels before. Precious Jewels was my family's ministry to the women that worked at the strip club in Key West, Florida. Now I am happy to say that we have changed the focus of this ministry. Precious Jewels is now going to be my family's ministry to women who are going to have (or have had) abortions.

Some people may not think it is good idea to stand 10 feet away from the door of the murder mill (ie. Abortion mill) and plead with people to save the lives of their children that they are about to murder. I would like to ask these people to try doing it just once and see what it is like. ?This video challenges Christians about this issue.

People may not realize until they start sharing the gospel with people that there are people in this country who will do more than just refuse a gospel tract. Since we started going out to the Murder mill people have said to Mommy "Maybe they should have killed you". Somebody has yelled in Daddy's face "you are stupid because you can read." Others will just pretend you do not even exist. It is sadly humorous when someone from our group tries to hand someone a gospel tract and they look liked they are scared of it.

I have a friend who has been arrested in Portland Maine for preaching the Gospel outside the Murder mill. But nevertheless he stands out there with everyone else. Fighting for the right to live for these babies who can not defend themselves. I am happy to say that our efforts have not been in vain. We have never been in physical danger, anymore that other people walking down the sidewalk of a city where people defy God's laws and morality. There is a police officer out there almost every week to make sure everyone is safe. Sadly this means he also protects the women going in to murder their own children. He seems to have no regard for the safety of the babies whose mothers smile on their way through the gates of the murder mill, though their hearts are full of murder.

One time someone said to us "You guys are awesome". The thing is we are not! We are far from awesome! God is awesome! We are sinners just like everyone else in this world. The only difference is God saved us from our sins. Not by anything we did but by the Grace and Mercy of God. So next time someone says you are awesome because of what you are doing for the glory of God. You can use it as an opportunity to share the gospel with them.

So I guess I will share some stories about what has been going on in my life recently. #1 I finished reading the book of Psalms! On Friday we went to the Murder mill. Daddy got to have a great conversation with a young woman out on the street. While this young lady is not having an abortion she had made a sign that said "I support a woman's right to choose" Daddy went across the street to where she was. The 2 of them ended up talking for about 45 minuets. Please pray for her salvation.
There was a man from Romania that Mommy, Daddy and our friend got to talk to. When he found out they were murdering babies, he asked what would happen if he went into Planned Parenthood and told them to stop. Daddy told him that he might get arrested. The man also said that he was going to go upstairs and throw the abortion doctor out the window. Daddy then told him that he should probably go talk to officer Keller before he got any plans.

After we left the Murder mill we went to park and had a good time of fellowship with Donna ( who has been doing abortion ministry for about 4 years ) and some of her kids. If anyone would like to join our group outside the Murder mill. The address is 443 Congress street, Portland Maine. My family is planning on being out there this Friday. We are out from about 9 to 1130am most weeks. Next week ( the first Friday in August) is the Fellowship Conference in Portland so we will be out from about 8 to 9 am. There will probably be more people than usual out that week.

Some people may have a wrong idea of what we do when we are outside the Murder mill. We do not stand out there yelling at people. We do however plead with people to save the lives of their babies. There are a lot of people out there but usually our group includes: either Robert or Andrew preaching the gospel, though Daddy has preached there once. People passing out tracts. Others holding signs. Donna tries to talk to the women as they go in to the murder mill. And then their is "T", she will see someone walking towards us with a death-scort and she will walk with them as they go in, she will tell them that there are people who will adopt their babies or will help them with financial needs related to their babies. One thing that T does is she walks up along side someone and says " We are out here supporting women's rights. The rights of the women in the womb." It is sad how people agree with her on the first part and then do not agree with her on the second part.

Family

On Saturday we went to fort Knox, which is a fort that was built in the Civil War era. While there was never a shot fired from the fort. It is still a fun place to walk around in.

Today we had some green beans to pick from our 4,000 square foot garden. When I say some green beans I mean we picked over 5 gallons. We made about 21 quarts of dilly beans and we have more to pick and can tomorrow.

Prayer needs

I would like to ask for prayers for T who I mentioned earlier. She was playing basketball with her friends. When she jumped up, someone stepped on the back of her ankle and she ruptured her achilles tendon. She is in a cast for more than 5 weeks and then she will have wear a boot for 4 more weeks. Needless to say she is walking on crutches and I think she wants to get back to regular work again as she has a young daughter. Please pray for continued healing for her.

Mike Stockwell is planning on coming back to the states on August 2 please pray for safe travels for him.

With love in the LORD.

Murder mill and Blues Festival Ministry.

Hi everyone.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday were quite busy for my family. Thursday was my little brother's birthday. We went to the local library where the police were going to be doing a talk. When we got there we were excited to see that the officer doing the talk was chief of police, Kevin Haj. Mommy has known chief Haj for about 25 years. We had a great time talking with him about farming, gardening, and preaching. Part way through his talk he called Daddy over and handed him the keys to the cruiser. He asked Daddy to go get the candy from the car. After a while Chief Haj motioned for me and Mommy to come over. Once we came over he took out his handcuffs and locked me and Mommy together. He then handed Mommy the keys to let us out. My little brother had fun sitting on Chief Haj' lap. I guess Chief Haj is the closet to Grandpa Allan that my brother can find.

On Friday our day started at 6:30 in the morning. We left the house and went out to the streets of Portland.  This week was filled with men and women who were not so happy that we were out trying to talk women out of having an abortion.I was glad I was able to see Robert Gray again. This was the first time I was able to see Robert since he got back from a preaching tour in England. There were a couple other people out there with us. While I could tell a lot of stories about people that did not like that we were out there. One person told Robert that, because of our group outside the abortion mill begging people to repent and choose life, that is the reason that he has his son today. I pray that God uses the men and women of Redeeming Grace Fellowship, and Cell 53 along with the others who take their stand for Christ outside the abortion mill, as they labor to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the men and women of Portland Maine.

Saturday and Sunday was the North Atlantic Blues Festival, which is held in Rockland, the town right next to our home town. We had been at a local festival in St. George earlier with Gospel signs, tracts, and personal conversations earlier in the day. We went home for a little while to eat and then hit the streets of Rockland  and got to work. Our evening included street preaching, public reading of Scripture. and passing out tracts. We then went out to dinner with Grandma and then came home.

I asked for prayers for my friends in Cambodia, I am happy to say that they are back in the states. Chanthy, is a girl from Cambodia who has brain injuries. Due to losing mobility in her feet, her mussels have been severely injured. Chanthy does therapy at Lina's Hope, my friends therapy center in Cambodia. They brought her to the states with them so that she can have surgery done so that she can hopefully walk again. She just had her first surgery done. She will have to have another surgery in 4 months. Please be praying for her as she goes through this time of healing.

If anyone would like to write a note of encouragement to Chanthy, the Him family or the men and women who share the gospel on the streets of Portland. Letters can be sent to: Maine4Jesus@gmail.com. I will then make sure that all letters are given to the correct people.

I would like to ask for continued prayers for Mike Stockwell and the other men who were arrested for preaching the Gospel in England.

With love in the LORD,

Hello everyone.
It seems like there is a lot of talk about police officers right now and I wanted to write about my thoughts on this issue.

#1. Just because 2 police officers do something, it does not mean that all officers act the same way. When somebody says that all police officers are racist because 2 officers shot 2 black men, they are committing the fallacy of  "Hasty generalization". They make a statement about all police officers, based off of a limited amount of examples.

#2. We do not know what these 2 men did before they got shot. As far as we know these men could have been reaching for a gun to shoot the cop. Maybe the cops over reacted. The point is we do not know. Since we do not know what happened, we should not draw conclusions on whether the cops were racist or not.

I love police officers. My family knows at least 4 of the officers in our town. The chief of police treats Mommy like a daughter, ( well, he at least teases her like she is his daughter. ) My family makes cookies or muffins or some kind of treat and takes to the police officers. We do this a couple of times a year. In fact I am planning on taking the officers brownies on Thursday. We want to show the cops that we appreciate what they do to keep us safe.

On Sunday we had the chance to thank a state trooper for all his work when he pulled us over. We were on our way home from small group at our pastor's house, and blue lights turned on behind us. We had a plate light out and he could not tell if we had a license plate or not. While my siblings had a great time seeing a cop. ( My younger siblings have never been in a car that has been pulled over. ) We had a chance to thank this man for what he does. It just goes to show that not all cops are mean and out to get people, even if there are some who abuse their authority.

I would also like to say that, no matter what people may say, not all white people are racist. Some of the most passionate preachers I know are dark skinned. Robert Gray a man that I respect as a great man of God, is dark skinned. Andrew March, one of my brothers in Christ, says he is my "Proud brown brotha". I am honored to be able to stand with both of these men as we share the gospel on the streets of Portland. While we plead with people as they enter the building within 10 feet of where we are standing. Where parents go to commit premeditated murder of their own children. Andrew has been used by God's grace to save the life of a man outside of the Abortion mill. The man was going to commit suicide and after Andrew talked and prayed with him the man handed him a knife and said "Will you take this". As far as I know, our group has also been able to save at least one baby form being aborted. Praise the LORD for saving the lives of these two people! It is a great honor to be able to call both of these men brothers.

Along the lines of preachers and police officers. Last week in England, 4 street preachers were arrested for preaching the truth. The men were only held for a few hours, But they still have to go back and answer the charges. Among these men who were arrested was Mike Stockwell who I have mentioned before. Please pray for all 4 of these men. Pray that they trust the LORD. Pray also that the judges will judge justly, and will not punish these men for acting righteously.  Robert Gray who was in England, (but not arrested) is now back in the states. I thank the Lord for protecting them and pray that their preaching is used to bring souls to the Kingdom of God.

"Evangelism on the street", or "A typical day for our atypical family"

Hi everyone.
For those of you who do not live near my home town of Thomaston, The fourth of July party is a big deal! Thomaston is a town of 2,200 people. The forth of July celebration brings in 3,000-7,000 people, one year there were as many as 10,000 . In other words, it is a great place to do some street evangelism  The day starts at 8;00am with a kids 1 mile fun run followed by a 5k race for the adults. Later in the day there is a parade, there is a band and some vending booths and they finish off the day with fireworks. My family used to be much more involved in the celebrations as my grandparents were in charge of the race, my grandfather also helped set up the fireworks display. Whenever something was going on in town Grandpa was probably there doing whatever he could to help.

This year my family had nothing to help with, so we were content to just enjoy our day, which probably looks a lot different than another family's version of fun.

Our day started with the family's tradition of donuts for breakfast ( everyone gets excited about this, because it was something Grandpa did for the family and since he passed away 2 years ago this is a once a year treat that adds even more fun to Independence day.) We then headed downtown where we went to find some friends to talk to.

After that we went out to street corner to hold gospel signs. We were able to pass out around 500 tracts and that was without even leaving the corner we were on.

Daddy got to have 2 of the strangest conversations ever. The first one was quite fun, Here's how it happened: A lady walked up to us with her little girl and while this may not be her exact words she  said something along the lines of, "Okay this is all pretend but play along with me, I have cancer and I have 20 seconds to live. what is the most important thing for me to know?" Daddy then proceeded to share the gospel with her.  After playing along with her for a little bit she then said, "I am actually a believer as well, I just do not have the guts to do what you just did, I was just wondering how someone would share their faith." Let us just say that that was one of the funniest conversations I have ever heard!

Daddy's next conversation was with a young man and while I do not want to share the whole story as I did not get permission from this man, I will say that this man is a new christian and it would be very helpful if you pray for him. Pray that God will make His will for this man's life clear to him and pray that this man's faith will be strengthened.

After being out in town for about 5 hours we decided to head home. When we got to our van there was a man sitting there who had been watching us on the street for a little while before. Mommy felt like she should give him a snack and we found out that he professes to be a Christian as well. Mommy and Daddy got to talk with him for a while and then we were on our way home.

While our day may seem a bit strange to others, this is what my family did all the time for 3 1/2 years. Our work included traveling across the country sharing the gospel with people. We traveled from Ohio to Texas to California to Key West, Florida and about 33 other states in between. I had a lot of fun and I would go back to full ministry if I was given the chance. We had help from a lot of other Christians, some would help whenever we were in the area and then there were other people who would travel like we did. There was the GNOM team ( Good News On The Move ) which was a group of 8 to 10 young men who traveled around the country like my family did. We would have a "surge week" where we would have prayer meetings, kid's club's, we would do door to door evangelism and much more. This was just part of our life.

For prayer requests I would like to ask for prayers for the Him family ( our friends in Cambodia. ) They are planning on being back in the states July 11 and would appreciate your prayers.

With love in the LORD,
Virginia.
