Welcoming Uriah Yeshua!

Hi everyone,
On Saturday August 26 we welcomed Uriah Yeshua Cowperthwaite into this world. He is baby number 7 and he is a great blessing. He was born at 9:24 on Saturday morning weighing 8 pounds 13 ounces and he was 21 inches long. He is doing well and we are enjoying time together as a family at home. Mommy is also doing very well. We are thanking God for this newest blessing to our family! Uriah Yeshua means "God is my light and my salvation" taken from Psalm 27:1 which says "The LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?" Our prayer is that Uriah Yeshua lives up to the meaning of his name and not only that but that in the coming years he will proclaim that message to others. Thank you all for your prayers for our family. I figured everyone would want to see pictures so I posted some below.

Pro-Choice vs. Pro-Life The Comical Side

Hi everyone.
For everyone who is involved in abortion ministry there are some times when you do not know what is going through the minds of abortion supporters when they say something to you. I have put together a list of ACTUAL questions and comments we hear from abortion supporters along with a pro-life answer. Sometimes they are funny. We do not always respond with the answers below they are just some possible responses. Sometimes it is hard to think of answers to strange questions when they first come up.  Enjoy reading and post any other questions or objections along with a funny pro-life reply in the comments below.

#1) Pro-choice:"Shut up you do not have a uterus."
Pro-life: "Did you just assume my gender?"

#2) Pro-choice: "Maybe we should just kill anyone who does not agree with us."
I know this sounds weird but you cannot make this stuff up!
      Pro-life: "Can I go first?"

#3) Pro-choice: "Do you eat meat?"
Pro-life: "Do you eat babies??? Yes I do eat meat but what does that have to do with abortion."

#4) Pro-choice: "Get a job."
Pro-life: "I have one otherwise I would be here more often." or Daddy says, "My job likes me so much they give me Fridays off just so I can be here!"

#5) Pro-choice: "It's just a clump of cells."
Pro-life: "So are you. Is that justification for me to kill you? Because I do not think that is what you meant."

#6) Pro-choice: (Car or truck horn honks)
Pro-life: "Was that a good or a bad honk? Oh wait, they have a Hillary Clinton bumper sticker, it was probably bad."

#7)Pro-choice: "Planned Parenthood provides pre-natal care."
Pro-life: "According to them they don't."

#8) Pro-choice: "It's just a fetus."
Pro-life: "Feel free to speak English here." (Thank you Jeff Durbin for that answer.)

#9) Pro-choice: "I'm sorry your parents are making you do this."
Pro-life: "What are you talking about? Do you think I do not want to be here? If so you are wrong. I drag my parents here some days (joking)"

#10) Pro-choice: "But babies are expensive."
Pro-life: "So is your dog but you have not killed it yet."

#11) Pro-choice: "But I have two dogs at home and they are precious to me so we are going to have to kill the kid." Yes we have actually heard this.
       Pro-life: "Repent you evil coward!"

#12) Pro-choice: "She assaulted me." (Pointing to the woman voted Least Likely to Harm a Fly)
Pro-life: "That's hilarious! Oh wait, you were not trying to be funny? Next time try coming up with something more believable. She could not have assaulted you."

#13) Pro-choice: "Pro-Choice."
Pro-life: "But when you drove by a minute ago your bumper sticker said "Save the trees". What if I am pro-choice, can I then kill all the trees I want? My choice right?"

#14) Pro-choice: (Someone is talking while walking away.)
One pro-lifer says "Do I want to know what they just said?"
Another person responds, "No, no you don't!"

#15) Pro-choice: "Judge not."
Pro-life: "Did you just judge me by telling me not to judge?"

#16) Pro-choice: "How many kids have you adopted?"
Marguerite from our group answers: "5 sir". This was very funny and it is actually on video.

#17) Pro-choice: "You're just stupid homeschoolers."
Pro-life homeschool student could respond: "That is an Ad Hominem attack and is logically fallacious. Be careful when you reply, I will not hesitate to point out any other logical fallacies that you commit in your reasoning and if you continue to reason the same way you did just a minute ago you can be sure I will find more."

#18) Pro-choice: "You should be arrested for child abuse."
Pro-life parent: "Because I brought them out here with me? Since we homeschool we have lots of people ask us about socialization. I thought I would bring them out here with me so that they could socialize. Is that not what they meant?"

#19) Pro-choice: "You are so intolerant."
Pro-life: "You are too intolerant of my intolerance. How about you try being tolerant first and I will know how it works."

#20) Pro-choice: "You should be ashamed of yourself."
Pro-life: "For what? Do you not like the color of my shirt or something?"

#21) Pro-choice: "What do you have against murdering Mongolians?" I do not know if this person said the wrong word or what but it was strange.
Pro-life: "I have everything against murdering Mongolians. I am against all murder. What did you think I was going to say?"

#22) Pro-choice: "1,2,3,4,5 little men intimidating women." The guy who says this runs by the abortion mill with two dogs, him yelling the whole time. I think he is the same one who asked Marguerite how many kids she adopted.
The Pro-life group answers: "Sir you are intimidating women and children by running past us with two dogs while yelling at us."

#23) Pro-choice: "Do you want me to go yell in that guy's face?" This came from one of the Planned Parenthood supporters talking about maybe Brian or someone from our group?
The Pro-life group responded: "Sure, he would love it!"

#24) Pro-choice: "Are you recording?" This also came from a Planned Parenthood supporter. Andrew March had just started coming out to the abortion mill again and had been talking to the supporters so I went over to take some video.
I told the supporters: "You are on public property you have no expectation of privacy I have every right to record." The other thing I think that this supporter did not notice is that I had a microphone clipped to my shirt. I had been recording that morning so probably every word I said to her that morning had been recorded. But I do not know as she realized this. I think she realized I was recording when I held up a kindle. Even the police tell people we have the right to record.

#25) Pro-choice: "You're stupid because you can read." Yes I know this one sounds strange too. This was from the owner of the shop next to Planned Parenthood. He is very opposed to us. He said this to Daddy.
Daddy: "One thing that we wonder is why there are so many public schools teaching kids to read? Is that so that they can make them all stupid?"

These are some of the things you hear when out on the street. I bet anyone involved in abortion ministry has heard many of these things. As we continue to do abortion ministry there may be more but this is a start. I hope you enjoyed it.

Prayer
Continue to pray for those out at the abortion mill in Portland. On Friday Brian was kind of warned for preaching too loudly but he finished his message and does not seem to be in too much trouble. Pray that Portland Police Department would see the unjust nature of the noise ordinance that they are trying to use selectively  and prejudicially against us that has been put in place due to the recent court ruling. (See my post from last week.) Pray that they would realize their duty as lesser magistrates who have sworn to uphold the constitution and that they would not take away our freedom of speech. Pray that they would not enforce unjust ordinances. Pray also for their salvation. Officer Keller was the officer again on Friday and as I have said before he still needs our prayers.

Court ruling allowing preaching outside the abortion mill had been overturned!

Hi everyone,

Yesterday we saw that Pro-Life Missionaries of Maine is once again in the news. Shortly before we started going to the abortion mill in Portland, Brian Ingalls got in trouble with the police because his preaching could be heard inside the rooms in Planned Parenthood. Brian was sued by Maine attorney General Janet Mills.

Once all the court cases were done and Andrew March sued multiple police officers the city of Portland then had to pay 56,000 dollars to the Pro-Life Missionaries. Here is one of the articles written about Andrew. Watch the video included in the article. Andrew had a very respectful conversation with the officer. Search Andrew March and Brian Ingalls free speech and buffer zones and you will find a lot more about the case. The story was covered in many news papers around the country.

The city of Portland, Maine tried to make a 39 foot buffer zone around the abortion mill which meant that our group had to stand across the street. Planned Parenthood did not want the protesters to be able to heard inside the building. They, however said that parades and other things that made loud noises on Congress street in front of the abortion mill did not cause problems. They only wanted the missionaries silenced because of their message. The judge ruled that this was unconstitutional and the missionaries went back to preaching 8 feet from the door to the abortion mill, until this Tuesday.

On Tuesday the district judge overturned the decision. They want us to be "quiet" whatever that means. Portland police may start forcing us to be quiet. This probably means that we will not be able to preach loud enough that they can hear us inside Planned Parenthood. We do not know what this means concerning open air preaching there but I will post updates as this goes on. Since this case has been through so many courts, who knows, maybe this will end up in the supreme court of the United States. Brian has already contacted his lawyer and will be checking in with them again before going back out to the abortion mill tomorrow.

Our constitutional rights to free speech are being stripped away. The first amendment says, "Congress shall make no law regarding an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech," Christianity is my religion and I have been commanded to rescue those being taken away to death and to preach the Gospel. When you take away our right to preach you are taking away our right to the exercise of my religion and my freedom of speech. America has come to the point where constitutional rights can be taken away simply because Planned Parenthood wants to murder babies without opposition from Christians preaching the Gospel.

However the faithful brothers and sisters outside the abortion mill will continue to preach the Gospel because they know that it is the power of God to salvation to everyone who believes and they know that God is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. They will continue to glorify God through the proclamation of the Gospel no matter what may happen.

We will see what happens and I will post updates. You can see the full story on WGME one of many news stations that is covering the story. The comments might be fun to read if you have the time. Some are not funny though. Please be praying for those who are opposed to us as well. They need salvation!

Things are heating up at the abortion mill and some are now receiving threats. These people who are threatening are enemies of God and they are angry with with those who preach the Gospel please keep them and the missionaries in prayer.

Many have asserted that we intimidate women who are going in to the abortion mill. In response to this baseless assertion, a brother from our group, Matt, made up a collage of how intimidating we are to the women. This is the face of the intimidation that happens from our group. Below is the intimidation of women that comes from Planned Parenthood.

This news only came out on Tuesday and since then it has been covered on many many news sources. Sadly with the news has come threats. People are even threatening to "shoot to kill" concerning abortion protesters.

Some of the Pro-Life Missionaries have also received personal threats. These have been reported to the police already but prayer is needed right now for those who are going out to the mill in Portland tomorrow and in the weeks to come.

Due to the expected arrival of my youngest sibling we will not be at the abortion mill for awhile but others are still going to be there and they need prayers for safety.

We are not the only ones who are having legal issues due to abortion ministry. Last week was the Fellowship Conference New England. Angela Braxton was there. Angela ministers outside one of the biggest abortion mills in the country in New York. Her and 14 others are being sued by the attorney general of New York for ridiculous claims. These claims include shoving women into walls, which never happened and for which there is no evidence. Please be praying for the situation there. Angela does have a lawyer.

While on the topic of legal issues, earlier this week we had a chance to talk with our lawyer. In my post from a few weeks ago, A Week With the Police, I wrote about our encounter with the chief of police in Wiscasset. We believe that the law that the chief cited that day was misinterpreted by the chief and that it was a case of targeted enforcement so we got a lawyer to pursue the case. Please be praying for that situation.

Please be in prayer for our family as we are expecting the newest member of the family to be born any day. We are staying around the house and hoping that the baby will come soon but God's timing is always best. But please be praying that Mommy will be able to cope well with the end of pregnancy. Daddy is also having some health problems, so I guess you can pray for him too.

Even though we will not going to the abortion mill for awhile we are considering doing some ministry here in Rockland we are hoping to educate the public about abortion even if we cannot be at the actual mill. Please be praying for us as we consider what the best way is to go about this.

Last weekend was the Fellowship Conference New England. We had a great time of fellowship with the saints. It was great to see people that we had not seen for awhile. We got to hear Jesse Barrington preach again which was once again an amazing sermon. He preached about the 2 thieves who were crucified with Jesus. He said that every person falls behind one of these thieves. Either we submit to Christ and recognize our sin and trust in Christ alone or we reject God, suppress the truth that we know about God and mock Him. Let us all stand behind on the side of Christ and let us not stand done until every man and woman has heard the truth of the Gospel! Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is LORD to the glory of God the Father!

A Crazy Week At The Abortion Mill

Hi everyone,
July 28 was strange day at the abortion mill. For context let me go back to events outside Planned Parenthood on July 21.

On July 21 we were outside Planned Parenthood and the police officer on duty was officer Stewart. The abortion mill is located in a multiple story building. There is construction taking place on different floors in the building. One of the funny things about the construction workers is that they will often stick their heads out the windows. They can hear the preaching and occasionally we "yell" back and forth with them. It would be easier to talk to them on the sidewalk and our time of talking to them is interesting while shouting up to a window multiple stories up. You never know what kind of discussions you will have with people when you go out on the street.

Sadly the windows on the floors where the construction is taking place are not always closed. On July 21 we were all standing on the sidewalk along with the Planned Parenthood volunteers. All of a sudden a small piece of dry wall came flying out of the window from multiple stories up. It landed in the middle of the sidewalk and it was the grace of God that protected everyone on the sidewalk from getting hit with it. After our protests about the dry wall flying out of the window the police officer told one the construction workers who came out that he wanted to talk to the boss.

Later in the day two men came up and stood in the road talking to Daddy and purposefully blocking his sign of a baby in the womb. Daddy asked them to step out of the road for their own safety but they continued to stand in the road. After they refused to move out of the road Daddy called down to the officer who was farther down on the sidewalk. The officer said something back but we could not hear what he said so I walked closer to him so I could hear what he said. When I went close to him he said "I'm not talking to you." He motioned Daddy to come to him. The two men did eventually step out of the road but not because the officer said anything to him, as he refused to address the issue.

Soon after, the officer walked down to the corner like he was looking for someone. I was wondering if he had called another officer to come over as we have had backup called before. No one showed up though so I do not know what he was doing. He then came over to Daddy and said "If you want my attention you come to me." Daddy was trying to tell him that it was his job to enforce the laws and protect the public but the officer said "It is not your job to tell me what to do. Do you understand? It is your job to stand here and protest and shut up." He then walked off. Later he asked Daddy if he was a citizen of Portland and if he was leaving. Both questions were irrelevant to the officer's duty to enforce the laws. The officer also refused to identify himself to Daddy. Usually we could just see his name badge but this officer was not wearing his badge in the same place that every other officer in full uniform wears one.

Because of all this we were going to write to the Portland Police Department to make them aware of the officer's actions. However we did not send the email. Instead, on Thursday we received an email from a Sergeant from Internal Affairs, Julie Cannafarina. She was the one investigating officer McCusker's actions from back in June. In the email she said that she had video and audio from officer Stewart's actions and that they were starting an internal investigation regarding his actions. Since Daddy was a witness to his actions she was wondering if there was anything we had to say about the matter. We checked with our group and no one sent video or audio to the police. We do not know where they got the footage for sure but when we are at the abortion mill the dash cam in the cruiser is always running and Planned Parenthood also has a camera.

Now that I explained what happened last week we can go to this week. This week, July 28, we had no officer on the sidewalk with us, which is interesting although last time an internal investigation on a police officer took place we had two weeks with no officer out with us.

At one point in the morning Sergeant Cannfarina and another man who seemed to be from Portland Police came and talked to the "deathscorts". She did not talk to us though. In over a year of being at the abortion mill we have never seen her out at the abortion mill.

This week Andrew and Tanya joined us for the first time in a long time. Andrew had a discussion with some of the Planned Parenthood supporters which was good. I was taking video and one of the ladies asked me if I was recording. I told her that I was and explained how it was protected under the law. She then told the other supporters to get out their phones and she started taking video. I did not care that she was recording she had every right to do so. I do not think she realized that I had a microphone attached to my shirt all morning.

Tanya sometimes walks with people down the sidewalk talking with them as they go. She has been doing this for a long time. One lady came and did not like Tanya talking to her. Officer Keller and officer Eide came, at which point officer Keller warned her to keep arm's length away from anyone not in our group, though this is not expressed in the law. Officer Eide seemed to be there for back up but did not talk to Tanya. We have been told that we are not supposed to follow patients. I do not know what is going to happen with all that but it was strange.

Something else strange happened this week. We had more people than usual out on the sidewalk standing for life. At one point in the morning someone in scrubs came out from Planned Parenthood and asked the Planned Parenthood supporters to move or even go across the street because the patients were being intimidated by so many people. We found out later that the lady who came out and asked them to move is actually the one who is in the room during abortion procedures. It is her job to make sure all the parts are there after the abortion. Please, please pray for her salvation! She is in desperate need of the Savior!

Later in the morning someone came with signs and t-shirts from Planned Parenthood and they were offering them for free if people would come across the street. One person said about Pro-Life Missionaries of Maine, "They came with a plan and it is working." I do not know what are plan was except to preach the Gospel but God had a plan for our day and I guess it worked!

Well that is just some of what our past two weeks at the abortion mill have been like. As I said it was crazy! Tomorrow is the start of Fellowship Conference New England! It should be a great time of preaching and fellowship with the saints, hosted by Redeeming Grace Fellowship in Portland.

Mike Stockwell and Robert Gray are back in the states after their trip to England, and will be organizing the ministry at the abortion mill this Friday as we will have people who came for the conference who will also join in the abortion ministry. Both Mike and Robert were recently preaching and doing evangelism in New York, and they will be coming up for the conference. I cannot wait to see them! It has been such a long time since we have seen either of them and I am looking forward to a great time of fellowship with them and the other saints who are coming!

Prayer
Please be in prayer for the fellowship conference as many people are traveling to get here. Pray for our time at the abortion mill on Friday morning as this seem to be getting strange there.  God is at work in Portland and we pray that God will #endabortionnow!

Pray for Mommy as she is 36 weeks pregnant and is not feeling well. We do not know how much longer until baby is born. All of her babies have been born early and with only 4 weeks left he could be born anytime! Pray that both Mommy and baby would stay healthy. And that if baby is not born for awhile God would give Mommy the strength to be able to endure the end of pregnancy even when she is not feeling well.

With love in the Lord,
Virginia
