A Crazy Week At The Abortion Mill

Hi everyone,
July 28 was strange day at the abortion mill. For context let me go back to events outside Planned Parenthood on July 21.

On July 21 we were outside Planned Parenthood and the police officer on duty was officer Stewart. The abortion mill is located in a multiple story building. There is construction taking place on different floors in the building. One of the funny things about the construction workers is that they will often stick their heads out the windows. They can hear the preaching and occasionally we "yell" back and forth with them. It would be easier to talk to them on the sidewalk and our time of talking to them is interesting while shouting up to a window multiple stories up. You never know what kind of discussions you will have with people when you go out on the street.

Sadly the windows on the floors where the construction is taking place are not always closed. On July 21 we were all standing on the sidewalk along with the Planned Parenthood volunteers. All of a sudden a small piece of dry wall came flying out of the window from multiple stories up. It landed in the middle of the sidewalk and it was the grace of God that protected everyone on the sidewalk from getting hit with it. After our protests about the dry wall flying out of the window the police officer told one the construction workers who came out that he wanted to talk to the boss.

Later in the day two men came up and stood in the road talking to Daddy and purposefully blocking his sign of a baby in the womb. Daddy asked them to step out of the road for their own safety but they continued to stand in the road. After they refused to move out of the road Daddy called down to the officer who was farther down on the sidewalk. The officer said something back but we could not hear what he said so I walked closer to him so I could hear what he said. When I went close to him he said "I'm not talking to you." He motioned Daddy to come to him. The two men did eventually step out of the road but not because the officer said anything to him, as he refused to address the issue.

Soon after, the officer walked down to the corner like he was looking for someone. I was wondering if he had called another officer to come over as we have had backup called before. No one showed up though so I do not know what he was doing. He then came over to Daddy and said "If you want my attention you come to me." Daddy was trying to tell him that it was his job to enforce the laws and protect the public but the officer said "It is not your job to tell me what to do. Do you understand? It is your job to stand here and protest and shut up." He then walked off. Later he asked Daddy if he was a citizen of Portland and if he was leaving. Both questions were irrelevant to the officer's duty to enforce the laws. The officer also refused to identify himself to Daddy. Usually we could just see his name badge but this officer was not wearing his badge in the same place that every other officer in full uniform wears one.

Because of all this we were going to write to the Portland Police Department to make them aware of the officer's actions. However we did not send the email. Instead, on Thursday we received an email from a Sergeant from Internal Affairs, Julie Cannafarina. She was the one investigating officer McCusker's actions from back in June. In the email she said that she had video and audio from officer Stewart's actions and that they were starting an internal investigation regarding his actions. Since Daddy was a witness to his actions she was wondering if there was anything we had to say about the matter. We checked with our group and no one sent video or audio to the police. We do not know where they got the footage for sure but when we are at the abortion mill the dash cam in the cruiser is always running and Planned Parenthood also has a camera.

Now that I explained what happened last week we can go to this week. This week, July 28, we had no officer on the sidewalk with us, which is interesting although last time an internal investigation on a police officer took place we had two weeks with no officer out with us.

At one point in the morning Sergeant Cannfarina and another man who seemed to be from Portland Police came and talked to the "deathscorts". She did not talk to us though. In over a year of being at the abortion mill we have never seen her out at the abortion mill.

This week Andrew and Tanya joined us for the first time in a long time. Andrew had a discussion with some of the Planned Parenthood supporters which was good. I was taking video and one of the ladies asked me if I was recording. I told her that I was and explained how it was protected under the law. She then told the other supporters to get out their phones and she started taking video. I did not care that she was recording she had every right to do so. I do not think she realized that I had a microphone attached to my shirt all morning.

Tanya sometimes walks with people down the sidewalk talking with them as they go. She has been doing this for a long time. One lady came and did not like Tanya talking to her. Officer Keller and officer Eide came, at which point officer Keller warned her to keep arm's length away from anyone not in our group, though this is not expressed in the law. Officer Eide seemed to be there for back up but did not talk to Tanya. We have been told that we are not supposed to follow patients. I do not know what is going to happen with all that but it was strange.

Something else strange happened this week. We had more people than usual out on the sidewalk standing for life. At one point in the morning someone in scrubs came out from Planned Parenthood and asked the Planned Parenthood supporters to move or even go across the street because the patients were being intimidated by so many people. We found out later that the lady who came out and asked them to move is actually the one who is in the room during abortion procedures. It is her job to make sure all the parts are there after the abortion. Please, please pray for her salvation! She is in desperate need of the Savior!

Later in the morning someone came with signs and t-shirts from Planned Parenthood and they were offering them for free if people would come across the street. One person said about Pro-Life Missionaries of Maine, "They came with a plan and it is working." I do not know what are plan was except to preach the Gospel but God had a plan for our day and I guess it worked!

Well that is just some of what our past two weeks at the abortion mill have been like. As I said it was crazy! Tomorrow is the start of Fellowship Conference New England! It should be a great time of preaching and fellowship with the saints, hosted by Redeeming Grace Fellowship in Portland.

Mike Stockwell and Robert Gray are back in the states after their trip to England, and will be organizing the ministry at the abortion mill this Friday as we will have people who came for the conference who will also join in the abortion ministry. Both Mike and Robert were recently preaching and doing evangelism in New York, and they will be coming up for the conference. I cannot wait to see them! It has been such a long time since we have seen either of them and I am looking forward to a great time of fellowship with them and the other saints who are coming!

Prayer
Please be in prayer for the fellowship conference as many people are traveling to get here. Pray for our time at the abortion mill on Friday morning as this seem to be getting strange there.  God is at work in Portland and we pray that God will #endabortionnow!

Pray for Mommy as she is 36 weeks pregnant and is not feeling well. We do not know how much longer until baby is born. All of her babies have been born early and with only 4 weeks left he could be born anytime! Pray that both Mommy and baby would stay healthy. And that if baby is not born for awhile God would give Mommy the strength to be able to endure the end of pregnancy even when she is not feeling well.

With love in the Lord,
Virginia
